Titan Sports Orioles 7    D&D Marlins 6   (7 innings)

Led by Trevor Lawton’s two run “walk off” home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Titan Sports Orioles (7-0) came from behind to defeat the D&D Marlins, 7-6.

In the top of the first inning, the Marlins jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a Joe Maynard two run triple.  Scoring on the play were Brian Moretti and Jared Shibley who had walked to lead off the game. 

The Orioles tied things up in the bottom of the first inning when Ernie Wright walked, stole second base, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a passed ball.  Trevor Lawton followed with his fifth home run of the year. 

 The Marlins scored four more runs in the top of the second inning for a 6-2 lead.  Providing hits were Mike Moretti (single), Brian Moretti (two run double), Nathanial Snow (single), Jared Shibley (r.b.i. single), and Joe Maynard (two run single).

The Orioles, who did not allow a hit from the second inning on, closed the gap to 6-3 when Tim Fournier scored on a Ray Zincone’s (2/3, two runs scored) triple. 

 In the fifth inning, the Orioles tied things up when Fournier and Zincone both walked and scored on Trevor Lawton’s triple.  Lawton tied the score at 6-6 when he scored on an errant throw back to the infield.J

oe Maynard, who pitched six innings for the Marlins, struck out 14 batters and allowed just five hits.

The Orioles received great pitching from Bill Holihen, Hunter Dean, Trevor Lawton and Ray Zincone. The quartet combined to strike out 20 batters and allowed no hits over the final 5 innings.  Zincone picked up the victory by striking out six Marlins in the last two innings.

In a game that went back and forth for four innings, the Orioles came from behind to defeat the Yankees, 11-7.               

Down 7-6 after four innings, the Orioles exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth inning. 

Providing the key hits were Ray Zincone (two singles and one two run home run), Trevor Lawton (single, double, and one home run), Tyler MacGregor (one double), Tim Fournier (single and one run scored).                

Lawton, who picked up the victory with four innings of relief, struck out seven batters and allowed just one run on one hit. 

Offensively, the Yankees were led by Caleb Hoyle (two singles), Tom Doran (one single), Dave LaMountain (single, solo home run, and two runs scored), Alex Cabral (one single), Chris Gaipo (one single and one r.b.i.) and Matt Gambardella (one single and one run scored).

The Orioles came from behind to win their eighth consecutive game, 6-3 over the Dodgers.

After the Dodgers scored on a bases loaded walk by Kyle Murphy in the first inning, they increased their lead to 2-0 in the second inning on Joe Paquette’s single to centerfield. 

 In the bottom of the third inning, however, Trevor Lawton (2/3, three r.b.i.’s) blasted his 6th home run of the year, to cut the lead to 2-1.

Mike Pellerin hit a home run in the top of the fourth inning, to put the Dodgers ahead, 3-1. 

 In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Orioles exploded for four runs on hits by Noel Larrivee, Jarrid Rossignoll , Ray Zincone and Ernie Wright (two singles.

Trevor Lawton earned the save by limiting the Dodgers to no runs in the last two innings. 

Hunter Dean, who pitched the third and fourth innings, picked up the victory.

Led by the combined one hit pitching of Andrew In, Alex Hernandez, and Matt Grenier, the Athletics edged the Dodgers, 2-0, in an old-fashion pitchers’ duel.  The trio struck out 16 batters in the game.              

The Dodgers received solid pitching from the trio of Matt Hopper, Joe Paquette, and Mike Pellerin.  Hopper, who pitched the first two innings, allowed only one run on one hit.  Paquette, who pitched two innings of middle relief, struck out five batters.            

The A’s put one run on the scoreboard in the first inning when Andrew In singled, stole second base, moved to third on Stanley Paulino’s sacrifice bunt, and scored on Matt Grenier’s fielder’s choice.            

With the score 1-0 in the top of the fifth inning, the Dodgers loaded the bases with three consecutive walks issued to Tyler DePetrillo, Mike Capuano, and Noah Lapinsky.  Matt Grenier, then, entered the game and struck out the next three batters to end the inning.            

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the A’s received an insurance run when In singled and scored on Grenier’s triple off the left field fence.              

In the top of the sixth inning, Jason Rutter spoiled the A’s no-hit bid with a two out, two strike bloop single over the head of Alex Hernandez.

 In a well played game by both teams, the Orioles held onto a 5-4 victory over the surging Athletics.              

Leading the way for the Orioles was the pitching trio of Hunter Dean, Ernie Wright, and Trevor Lawton.  Dean, who worked the first two innings, allowed only one earned run on two hits while striking out four.  Wright, who worked two innings of middle relief, allowed only two earned runs on two hits while striking out five.  Lawton, who did not allow a hit, struck out four batters to end the game.            

In the top of the first inning, the Athletics jumped out to a 2-0 lead on hits by Andrew In, Matt Grenier, and a run producing fielder’s choice by Matt Reid.            

In the bottom of the first inning, the Orioles tied it up at 2-2 on hits by Ray Zincone (double), and Trevor Lawton (two run single).            

After allowing an unearned run in the second inning, the A’s took the lead 4-3 in the top of the third inning.  Luis Salazar led off with a walk, moved to third on Andrew In’s single to right field, and scored on Matt Grenier’s two run double to the centerfield fence.            

The talented O’s, however, came back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.  After Ray Zincone’s lead-off home run tied the game, Lawton walked, stole second base, stole third base, and scored on a fielder’s choice.

 Led by the hitting of Joe Maynard (single, triple and 4 r.b.i.’s), the Marlins defeated the Dodgers 9-5.              

Offensively, the Marlins also received offensive contributions from Brian Moretti (two runs scored), Anthony Moretti (two runs scored), Matt Henault (single and run scored), and Mike Moretti (three walks and two runs scored).            

The Dodgers received support from Jason Paquette (one run scored), Joe Paquette (one triple), Mike Pellerin (three walks), Matt Hopper (one single), Kyle Murphy (one single), Justin Rutter (two singles), Tyler DePetrillo (one run scored), and Noah Lapinsky (one run scored).

The Orioles improved to 9-0 on the year by holding on to a 8-7 victory over the defending champion, Centreville Bank Red Sox.   

The Orioles, who jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead through four innings, were led by the pitching of Trevor Lawton, who allowed just one hit and struck out nine batters in four innings of work.   

In the bottom of the first inning, Lawton (2/3, two runs scored, and three r.b.i.’s) helped his cause with an r.b.i. triple scoring Jared Rossignoll (1/2) and Ray Zincone (3/3, three runs scored, and one r.b.i.).  Lawton later scored when he stole home to give the Orioles a 3-0 lead.  

In the bottom the third inning, Zincone hit a single scoring Ernie Wright and later scored on a passed ball to give the O’s a 5-0 cushion.  The Red Sox, however, erupted for seven runs on two hits, five walks and one error to pull ahead 7-5 in the top of the fifth inning.  Providing the key hits for the Red Sox were Nick D’Ambra (two run double) and Tyler Boisclair’s (1/3, one run scored) deep fly ball which was mishandled allowing three unearned runs to score on the play.              

The Orioles came back in the bottom of the fifth inning on a triple and stolen base by Zincone (triple).  After Lawton reached on an error, he scored two pitches later on a passed ball to tie the game at 7-7.

After Ray Zincone struck out the side in the top of the sixth inning, the Orioles won in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Jared Rossignoll reached on a one out single, stole second base, and scored on Ernie Wright’s walk off double.

 Murphy & Fay Dodgers 7  Centreville Bank Red Sox 3            

 Led by the pitching of Joe Paquette and Mike Pellerin, the Dodgers won their first game of the year against the Red Sox, 7-3.            

Paquette, who worked the first three innings, allowed just two runs on three hits while striking out two.  Pellerin, who picked up the save, struck out seven batters and allowed only one run on one hit.              

Offensively, the Dodgers received support from Jason Paquette (two walks and two runs scored), Joe Paquette (one single, two walks, and two runs scored), Mike Pellerin (two runs scored), Kyle Murphy (three singles and four r.b.i.’s), and Tyler DePetrillo (one single and one r.b.i.).

The Red Sox received hits from Tyler Boisclair (single), Anthony Herrera (two run triple), and Mike Tetrault (single).

Led by the solid pitching of Andrew In, Stanley Paulino, and Matt Grenier, the Athletics, defeated the Orioles, 5-2. 

The loss was the first of the season for the Orioles, who started the season with ten straight victories.              

After Ray Zincone pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the first inning, the Orioles jumped out to a 2-0 lead on two walks (Jared Rossignoll and Ernie Wright), an r.b.i. groundout by Zincone and an r.b.i. double by Trevor Lawton.            

In the bottom of the second inning, the A’s rallied for four runs on five hits to take a 4-2 lead.  Recording hits in the inning were Luis Salazar (bunt single), In (r.b.i. single), Paulino (bunt single), Grenier (two run triple), and Matt Reid (r.b.i. double.              

One pivotal point of the game came in the top of the third inning with runners at the corners.  Eleven year old Stanley Paulino induced to groundouts from sluggers Zincone and Lawton to end the inning.                 

Matt Grenier, who picked up the save, struck out five batters in the final two innings.

Coming off their biggest win of the season, the Athletics continued their solid play by defeating the Red Sox, 11-1.            

Offensively, the Athletics received contributions from Andrew In (single, triple, three runs scored, and 2 r.b.i.’s), Stanley Paulino (one single and two r.b.i.’s), Matt Grenier (two singles, one double, two runs scored, and three r.b.i.’s), Matt Reid (one r.b.i.), Logan Chapman (one r.b.i. single), Ryan Johnson (three walks and two runs scored), Jason Malette (one run scored), and Luis Salazar (one single and one run scored).              

The Red Sox received hits from Nick D’Ambra, Tyler Boisclair, and Mitchell Moore.

Led by the pitching of Mike DeFusco and a nine hit attack, the second place Yankees cruised by the Athletics, 8-4.               DeFusco, who started the game, struck out seven batters and allowed just two hits in three innings of work.            

Offensively, Defusco (one single and one r.b.i.) received offensive support from Caleb Hoyle (one single and one run scored), Tim Doran (one single and two runs scored), Dave LaMountain (two singles, two runs scored, and one r.b.i.), Matt Gambardella (one single, one triple, two runs scored, and two r.b.i.’s), and Travis Caddick (two run single).            

Offensively, the Athletics received hits from Andrew In (one single and one solo home run), Matt Grenier (two singles and one run scored), and Logan Chapman (one triple and one run scored).

In a game called after 3 ½ innings, the Athletics defeated the Marlins, 10-4.              

The Athletics, who benefitted from seven free passes, received hits from Andrew In (one single and three runs scored), Stanley Paulino (one single and two runs scored), Matt Grenier (two singles and four r.b.i.’s), and Jason Mallette (two singles and one r.b.i.).              

The Marlins received hits from Anthony Moretti (r.b.i. single), Joe Maynard (infield single), and Nathaniel Snow (single).

Led by the hitting and relief pitching of Matt Grenier, the Athletics upset the Yankees, 3-2.            

 

Grenier, who struck out the side in the bottom of the sixth inning, recorded three of the A’s five hits.  For the game, the switch hitting 12 year old singled, doubled, tripled, and drove in all three runs.              

 

 

The Athletics received fine pitching from Alex Hernandez, Stanley Paulino, and Andrew In.  Hernandez, who worked the first two innings, allowed only one earned run on three hits.  Paulino struck out four in two innings of one hit middle relief, while In struck out two batters and allowed one hit in the bottom of the fifth inning.            

 

The Yankees, who were without southpaw Tom Doran, received solid pitching from Mike DeFusco and Jason LaRose.   Defusco struck out two batters and allowed just one hit in two innings, while LaRose allowed only three runs on four hits in four innings of relief.            

 

In addition to Grenier’s three hits, the A’s received contributions from Andrew In (two singles and two runs scored) and Robert Bird (one run scored in the top of the sixth inning).             

 

The Yankees were led by Caleb Hoyle (one single and one r.b.i.), David LaMountain (two singles), Chris Gaipo (one single), and Brogan Guillmette (one single).

Led by the combined three hit pitching of Matt Grenier, Andrew In, and Ryan Johnson, the Athletics defeated the Dodgers, 8-2.            

Grenier, who worked the first two innings, did not allow a hit and struck out five batters.  In, who worked the three innings of middle relief, struck out four batters and allowed only one earned run on three scattered hits.  Johnson closed out the game by striking out two batters in the sixth inning.            

The Dodgers received solid starting pitching from Matt Hopper.  The burly right hander allowed just one hit while striking out three batters in 2 2/3 innings.              

 The Dodgers took an early 1-0 lead when Mike Capuano walked, stole two bases, and scored on an errant throw.            

 In the bottom of the third inning, the A’s scored six runs on five walks (Alex Hernandez, Ryan Johnson, Logan Chapman, Stanley Paulino, and Andrew In) and two hits (Matt Reid - single and Matt Grenier - three run triple).             

 In the top of the fifth inning, the Dodgers scored a run when Joe Paquette scored on Mike Pellerin’s double to the fence.            

The A’s closed out the scoring in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runs on hits from In (single), Grenier (r.b.i. single), and Hernandez (r.b.i. single). 

Centreville Bank Red Sox 14  D&D Construction Marlins 11           

Led by the hitting of Tyler Boisclair and Anthony Herrera, the Red Sox held onto a 14-11 victory over the Marlins.            

The slugging tandem combined to hit for the cycle.  While Boisclair hit a single, double, triple, and had four r.b.i.’s, Herrera hit two solo home runs and scored three runs.              

Offensively, the Red Sox, also, received contributions from Nick D’Ambra (one double, three runs scored, and three r.b.i.’s), Andrew D’Ambrosca (two runs scored), Mitchell Moore (one single and three r.b.i.’s), Ryan Blais (one single and one run scored), and Mike Tetrault (two runs scored).            

Offensively, the Marlins got support from Brian Moretti (one double, two run scored, and one r.b.i.), Nick Pecchia (one single), Joe Maynard (two singles, four runs scored, and two r.b.i.’s), Jared Shibley (two singles and two r.b.i.’s), Mike Charnley (three walks), Dylan Oliviera (one run scored), Mike Moretti (three walks and one run scored), and Matt Henault (two runs scored).

Despite the power hitting of Mike Pellerin (two singles, two home runs, three runs scored, and four r.b.i.'s), the Red Sox held onto a 13-9 victory over the Dodgers.

Offensively, the Red Sox received help from Mike Tetrault (one single and one r.b.i.), Noah Valenti-Ochs (one two run single), Ryan Blais (one run scored), Anthony Herrera (two singles and three r.b.i.'s), Jordan Hendrick (two runs scored), Mitchell Moore (three singles and three runs scored), Tyler Boisclair (two doubles and two runs scored), Andrew D'Ambrosca (one single and two runs scored), Nick D'Ambra (one double and two runs scored).

Besides the hitting of Pellerin, the Dodgers received support from Joe Capuano (one run scored), Tyler Depetrillo (two runs scored), Kyle Murphy (two singles, one run scored, and one r.b.i.), Matt Hopper (one single), Joe Paquette (one run scored), and Jason Paquette (one single, one double, and two r.b.i.'s).

Before the Orioles (13-1) stepped on the field, they had already clinched the regular season title when the WW PIC Athletics upset the second place Yankees, earlier in the day 3-2. 

 

In a tune up before the playoffs, the Orioles easily defeated the Red Sox 10-0.

Offensively, the Orioles were led by Trevor Lawton (4/4, four runs scored, three r.b.i.’s, and his 8th & 9th home runs of the year), Hunter Dean (three singles, two runs scored, and two r.b.i.’s), and Tim Fournier(one single and two runs scored).  

 

 

The Red Sox were led by Jacob Valenti-Ochs and Mitchell Moore who both went had two hits each.On the Mound, the O’s used a quartet of pitchers to shut out the Red Sox.  Ernie Wright allowed only three hits and struck out two batters in three innings of work.   

 

 

For the Red Sox, ten year old Andrew D’Ambrosca pitched a scoreless inning in relief and nine year old Nathan Woodside allowed only two runs in his first action of the year.

Led by the hitting of Logan Chapman (two extra base hits), the Athletics came from behind to edge the Marlins, 5-4.

Down 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning, the Marlins scored three runs on two hits (Matt Morgan and Brian Moretti), two walks, and two errors for a 3-2 lead.

In the top of the third inning, Andrew In doubled to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a single by Stanley Paulino.  Matt Grenier, then, hit a towering shot over the right field fence that seemed to hook around the foul pole, but was ruled foul. 

Two pitches later, In raced home on a fielder’s choice to tie the game at 3-3.   In the bottom of the third inning, the Marlins re-took the lead, 4-3, when Joe Maynard hit his first home run of the year.

The A’s came right back in the top of the fourth inning when Logan Chapman tripled and scored on an error.In the top of the sixth inning, Ryan Johnson singled and scored when Chapman doubled to left center for a 5-4 lead.Matt Grenier, then, came into the game and sealed the victory for the A’s by striking out two batters and inducing one ground out.

Led by the pitching Andrew In, the Athletics shutout the Red Sox, 10-0. 

The twelve year old struck out eleven batters and allowed just two hits in five innings pitched.While In was keeping Red Sox hitters in check, the Athletics offense exploded for ten runs on eight hits and seven walks.

Offensively, the A’s received hits from Stanley Paulino (one single and one run scored), Matt Grenier (one single, one home run, three runs scored, and three r.b.i.’s), Matt Reid (three singles, one run scored, and two r.b.i.’s), Ryan Johnson (one single), and Luis Salazar (one two run single).

The Red Sox received hits from Mitchell Moore (single) and Anthony Herrera (double).

Led by the pitching of 11 year olds Alex Hernandez and Allen Flyntz, the West Warwick PIC Athletics won their ninth league game of the year, 4-1, over the Marlins.

In three innings pitched, Hernandez, who picked up the victory, struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits.  Flyntz, who picked up the save, struck out five batters and allowed just one hit in three innings of work.

Jared Shibley of the Marlins also pitched a good game by striking out seven batters in three innings of work.In the bottom of the first inning, the A's struck for three runs on four hits.  Andrew In singled to lead of the game. 

After Stanley Paulino reached on a bunt single, twelve year old slugger Matt Grenier singled to centerfield to score In.  Matt Reid followed with a walk, loading the bases for Logan Chapman.  Paulino, then, scored on a groundout by Chapman.  One out later, Jason Mallette singled to left field, scoring Grenier.In the top of the second inning, the Marlins scored one run on a triple by Matt Morgan and one Athletic miscue.

In the bottom of the second inning, the A's scored one run when Matt Grenier, batting from the right side, hit a r.b.i. single to left field, scoring Paulino.

Offensively, the Marlins received hits from Morgan, Nathaniel Snow, and Jared Shibley.

In the final game of the regular season, the future players of the league were on center stage.            

For the Dodgers, ten year old Jason Paquette pitched well against the third place Athletics.  In three innings of work, Paquette threw 38 of his 65 pitches for strikes while striking out three.            

The Athletics received three hit pitching from 11 year olds Ryan Johnson and Stanley Paulino.  Johnson, who worked the first three innings, picked up his first victory by striking out four and allowing just two earned runs on three hits.  Paulino, who picked up the save, struck out five in three innings of no hit ball.            

Offensively, the Dodgers received hits from Matt Hopper (two run single), Joe Capuano (r.b.i. single), and Mike Pellerin (single and run scored).            

Offensively, the Athletics were led by Andrew In (two run double and three runs scored), Stanley Paulino (three singles and two r.b.i.’s), Matt Grenier (two singles, one double, and four r.b.i.’s), Logan Chapman (two singles and one run scored), Alex Hernandez (one single), and Luis Salazar (one single and one run scored).

West Warwick Wizards Varsity:  The Wizards (2-16 in I-South, 4-16 overall) honored their eleven seniors this past week.  Graduating from this year's team are Nick Carney, Dillon Coffua, Matt Grosso, Amine Malki, Kurtis Melvin, Charley Parent, Tim Parente, Brent Reed, Jeff Sampaio, and Chris Viveiros. Check out the Handouts section for the Wizards' team leaders and 2010 stats.  

Senior Charley Parent received First Team All Division Honors.  The senior, who began the season going 0/12, finished the season with a .357 batting average (15/42 with 18 runs scored, 9 r.b.i.'s, ten walks, eight hit batsmen, and an OBP of .567).

Senior Sam Williamson received Second Team All Division Honors.  The senior, who led the Wizards with twenty hits this season, finished the season with a .313 batting average (20/64, 12 runs scored, seven walks, and an OBP of .437).  In addition to that, Williamson ended the year with a .926 fielding average.

Senior Jeff Sampaio, who was unable to play this year, received Division I-South's "Brian Fell" nomination for his outstanding commitment and perserverance over his four year career at West Warwick High School.

Senior Dillon Coffua, who finished the year with a .254 batting average (18/71, 8 runs scored and 10 r.b.i.'s), received the Academic Excellence Award in Division I-South for his success in the classroom and on the field.  Coffua is ranked in the top 15 percent of the senior class.

In the West Warwick Cal Ripken league opener, the Orioles defeated the Yankees, 7-2. The Orioles, the clear favorite to win this year's Cal Ripken League Championship, were led by the pitching of Hunter Dean, Ernie Wright, and Trevor Lawton.  The trio of pitchers struck out 15 Yankees. In fact, Wright and Lawton combined to strike out 9 of the 12 Yankees they faced from the fourth inning on.  Offensively, the Orioles were led by Ernie Wright (two run scored), Ray Zincone (2/3, one home run, and two runs scored), Trevor Lawton (2/3, one home run), Tyler McGregor (one run scored), Billy Singpracha(1/2, one run scored), Billy Hollihen (one single). The Yankees received offensive support from Caleb Hoyle (2/3, one double and one triple), David LaMountain (1/3), and Tom Doran (2/3, one double).  

Gordon Orthodontics Yankees 10  D&D Construction Marlins 0:

10 year old Mike Defusco led the Yankees to a 10-0 victory in a five inning perfect game.   Defusco struck out 12 of 15 batters to help the Yankees pick up their firts victory of the year. Offensively, the Yankees received help from Defusco (1/4, one run scored), David LaMountain (1/4, one run scored, and one triple), Caleb Hoyle(1/3, two runs scored), Tom Doran (one double), Matt Gambardella (one single and two runs scored), Trevor Caddick (1/1, one run scored), Thomas Bellrose (one run scored), and Brogan Guillmette (1/1, one run scored).

Led by the hitting of Ray Zincone (2/3, double, home run, and three runs scored) and Trevor Lawton (1/2, one run scored and one r.b.i. triple), the Titan Sports Orioles came from behind to defeat the WW PIC Athletics, 6-2. In the top of the first inning, the A's jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Matt Grenier doubled and then, scored on Andrew In's first home run of the year. In the bottom of the first inning, the Orioles scored a run with two outs when Ray Zincone doubled and scampered home on a two base error.   While lefty Tyler Macgregor cooled down the A's bats with two innings of no-hit relief, the O's took the lead for good in the bottom of the third inning with three runs on a walk (Ernie Wright), an error (Zincone), a r.b.i. triple and stolen base of home by Trevor Lawton.  Lawton, also, closed the game by striking out six and allowing two hits in two innings pitched. Offensively, the O's received hits from Zincone (2/3, three runs scored, one double and one fifth inning home run), Lawton (one r.b.i. triple), and Noah Larrivee. The Athletics received hits from Matt Grenier (2/3, one run scored and a double), Andrew In (2/3, one two run home run), and Stanley Paulino (1/3).  Also, the A's pitchers (Paulino, In, Alex Hernandez, and Allen Flyntz) recorded 14 of the 15 Oriole outs via strikeouts.

 Titan Sports Orioles 15  Murphy & Fay Dodgers 3:

The Orioles defeated the Dodgers by the score of 15-3 to improve to 3-0 on the young season.  The Orioles as they pounded Dodger pitching for 15 hits.  Leading the hit parade were Trevor Lawton (2/2, one grand slam and 7 r.b.i.'s), Ray Zincone (3/3, three runs scored and 3 r.b.i.'s), Ernie Wright (2/2, three runs scored), and Noel Larrivee(1/2 with one run scored, and 1 r.b.i.).  In addition to that Tim Fournier and Billy Rae Singpracha both singled and scored two runs. The Dodgers were led by Mike Pellerin (1/1, two runs scored, and one walk).  On the mound for the Orioles, Hunter Dean, Ernie Wright and Tyler McGregor combined to one hit the Dodgers.

Titan Sports Orioles 13  D&D Construction Marlins 3:

The Orioles improved to 4-0 with an impressive victory over the D&D Construction Marlins,13-3. In a game that was much closer than the final score, the Orioles broke open the game after Marlin Ace, Joe Maynard left the game after three innings.  Maynard pitched the first three innings allowing just two earned runs while striking out nine O’s.  Meanwhile, the O’s used the combine pitching of Hunter Dean, Ernie Wright and Tyler McGregor (ten strikeous) to hold the Marlins to two hits.Once in the Marlin bullpen, the Orioles bats erupted for ten runs on nine hits over the final two innings.  Leading the way for the Orioles were Ray Zincone (3/3, four runs scored and 4 r.b.i.’s), Trevor Lawton (3/3 , three runs scored, one home run, and 4 r.b.i.’s), Bill Holihen (2/2, one run scored and 1 r.b.i.), and Billy Rae Singpracha (2/4, two runs scored and 1 r.b.i.).   The Marlins were led by Joe Maynard (2/3, one run scored and 1 r.b.i.). 

D&D Construction Marlins 9  Centreville Bank Red Sox 6:

The D&D construction Marlins came from behind to defeat the Centreville Bank Red Sox, 9-6. The Red Sox took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on two walks (Nick D'Ambra, Anthony Hernandez)and two errors. In the bottom of the first inning, the Marlins tied it with two runs on hits Jared Shibley, Joe Maynard, Mike Charnley, and Nathaniel Snow. In the top of the third inning, the Red Sox took a 4-3 lead when Andrew D'Ambrosca reached on a fielder's choice, moved to second on Tyler Boisclair's single, and scored on Anthony Herrera's bloop double. After tying the game in the fourth inning when Brian Moretti walked and scored on one single and two errors, the Marlins finally broke open the game with five runs keyed by Joe Maynard's three run triple. Offensively, the Red Sox were led by Tyler Boisclair (2/4), Anthony Herrera (one double), Jordan Hedrick (one triple).The Marlins were led by Joe Maynard (3/3, one triple and 4 r.b.i.'s). 

Centreville Bank Red Sox 10  Murphy & Fay Dodgers 6:

After trailing 6-0 in the first inning, the Centreville Bank Red Sox came from behind to defeat the Murphy & Fay Dodgers, 10-6. In top of the first inning, the Dodgers scored six runs on four errors and hits by Jason Paquette, Mike Pellerin (double), Matt Hopper (double), Justin Rutter single), and Mike Capuano (single). In the bottom of the first inning, the Red Sox got three runs back on hits from Andrew D'Ambrosca (single), Tyler Boisclair (two run home run), Mitchell Moore (double), and Jordan Henrick (single).   In the bottom of the third inning, the Red Sox pulled ahead of the Dodgers with seven runs on three walks (Nick D'Ambra, Henrick, and Mike Tetrault), one error, and hits by D'Ambrosca (two singles), Boisclair (singel and double), Moore (single), and Jacob Valenti-Ochs (single). Ryan Blais struck out three batters and scattered six hits.  Jacob Valenti-Ochs closed the game by pitching two scoreless innings.   

 Gordon Orthodontics Yankees 9  Murphy & Fay Dodgers 2:

Led by the hitting of Mike Defusco (3/4), Caleb Hoyle (3/3, three runs scored and one double), Tom Doran (3/3, one run scored), and Matt Gambardella (1/3, one run scored), the Gordon Orthodontics Yankees defeated the Dodgers, 9-2.   In the bottom of the first inning, the Yankees jumped out to a 5-0 lead on two walks (Chris Gaipo and Alex Cabral) and singles by Defusco, Hoyle, and Doran. While Mike Defusco (four strikeouts) kept the Dodgers scoreless the first two innings, the Yankees upped their lead to 8-0 on hits by Defusco (single), Hoyle (double), and Doran (single).   In the top of the sixth inning, the Dodgers rallied for two runs on a Joe Paquette walk and hits by Kyle Henseler (double) and Kyle Murphy (double). 

Gordon Orthodontics Yankees 5  Centreville Bank Red Sox 4:

In an exciting game between the Yankees and Red Sox, the Yankees edged the Red Sox, 5-4. In the bottom of the first inning, the Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Nick D'Ambra (single) and Andrew D'Ambrosca (walk) scored on a Tyler Boisclair single and error. In the top of the third inning, the Yankees took a 3-2 lead when Travis Caddick (hit batsmen), Chris Gaipo (single) scored on Mike Defusco two run single.  Defusco, later, raced home on an error. The Yankees took a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning when Thomas Belrose walked, advanced to second and third on passed balls, and scored on a fielder's choice by Mike DeFusco. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Red Sox tied it up when Tyler Boisclair hit a two run home run.   In the top of the sixth inning, however, Caleb Hoyle reached on an error, advance to third on a wild pitch, a scored the eventual winning run on Tom Doran's first hit of the game. Caleb Hoyle put the clamp on any Red Sox rally by striking out three batters in the bottom of the sixth inning.  

  Centreville Bank Red Sox 12  WW PIC Athletics 11 (9 innings):

In a three hour marathon filled with more thrills than a roller-coaster ride, the Centreville Bank Red Sox edged the WW PIC Athletics, 12-11 when Tyler Boisclair (3/4, three runs scored, two home runs, one double, and 7 r.b.i.'s)took a 1-2 offering and hit a walk off home run. In the bottom of the first inning, the Red Sox took advantage of three Athletic errors to go up 3-0.  After two runs scored (Nick D'Ambra and Andrew D'Ambrosca) on a dropped fly ball, Boisclair scored on Jacob Valenti-Ochs' single to centerfield.   In the bottom of the second inning, the Red Sox scored two runs with two outs when Boisclair doubled in Mike Tetrault and Nick D'Ambra.    The Athletics cut the lead to 5-2 in the top of the third inning on hits by Matt Grenier (single), Ryan Johnson (r.b.i. double), and Matt Reid (r.b.i. single).   The Red Sox seemed to put the game away in the bottom of the fourth inning when Tyler Boisclair hit a grand slam with two outs.  Scoring on the blast were Anthony Herrera (fielder's choice), Nate Woodside (walk), and Nick D'Ambra (walk). Down 9-2, the Athletics, who had left six runners stranded in the first four innings, came back with four walks, three stolen bases, one error and Logan Chapman's second hit of the game. The Red Sox, however, came right back with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jordan Henrick and Noah Valenti-Ochs scored on a walk and two errors. In the top of the sixth inning to the dismay of the Red Sox faithful, the A's scored five runs on five walks and hits by Grenier (single), In (r.b.i. triple), Alex Hernandez (r.b.i. single), and Johnson.   As the game moved into three extra innings, the pitching of both teams finally took over the game.   After Tyler Boisclair, who started the game, struck out the side in the top of the seventh inning for the Red Sox, Athletic Ace, Matt Grenier followed that up by striking out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning. After Jordan Henrick retired the A's in order in the top of the eighth inning, Grenier struck out three Red Sox batters again in the bottom half of the inning. In the top of the ninth inning, Grenier walked with one out, stole second,advance to third base on a passed ball, only to be stranded as Henrick retired the next two batters on a pop-up and ground out. That set the stage for Boisclair's dramatic walk off home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning.
